Azrael - Lacrimosa

"Maboroshi no basha wa yami o wake
Hikari no aru hou e

He/she is Azrael, the angel of death, IN MY IMAGINATION. *err, angels are genderless

Although he/she got the name 'angel of death', Azrael is probably the gentlest of all. This is Azrael's description, based on notes I have:

"The much feared Angel of death in both Islamic and Hebrew lore, Azrael’s name means “whom God helps.”

Azrael’s primary role is to help people cross over to Heaven at the time of physical death. He comforts people prior to their physical passing, makes sure they don’t suffer during death and helps them assimilate on the other side.

Working as a grief counselor, he surrounds grieving family members with healing energy and helps them cope and thrive, and absorbs their pain.

Azrael has eyes and tongues exactly equal to the number of people inhabiting the world. Each time he blinks one of his eyes, it signifies that another person has died. Azrael also keeps track of the dying by recording the births of the living and erasing the names of those who have died. "



See? Azrael is not that bad

Note:
The triangle in the center of the cross, it's meant as "all seeing eye" or "The eye of God". It's symbolize with an eye inside a triangle, surrounded by lights.
The pearl in the center of the cross, is the pupil. The arc-like shape, is the eye-shape.
It's not good.. sorry >.<

I'm not doing good in this piece. Yeah, it's very hard to be drawn, and the proportion went wrong to. I intend to make the leg bends, but well, as you see, looks like there's something wrong with them.

And, yes, I forgot the book when I composed the entire picture. When I remembered that Azrael has a book with his/her. I can't dram them due to the lack of place. haha

The original is better, believe me! I like the wings most, because it took a really lot of effort.

And yeah, as you see, Azrael has a really lots of eyes on his/her body. There's a pair on wings, a pair on shoulders, actually, three or whatever in back, and so on. Draw them gives me thrill, because... well, drawing people with so many eyes on his/her whole body is.. horror -___-''
And that's why I didn't draw any additional mouth or tongue. It'd be.. uh.. way too difficult.

It's still in pencil. Actually, I don't know what to do beside doing the line..
so indecisive I am.
